John Lang, former MD of Alere Health and Good Health Solutions has been appointed the new CEO of Workplace Health Association Australia (WHAA).
John was the founding president of the industry body from 2005 to 2010 when it was established to represent the interests of Workplace Health Providers, oversee standards, establish Best Practice Guidelines and lobby State and Federal Governments to support employee wellbeing.
John has spent most of his professional life in Workplace Health, having entered the field after obtaining his Ph.D. from Monash University Med Faculty in 1986.
“Workplace Health has been my passion and profession for nearly 30 years” John said, “there is still a lot our industry needs to do if we are going to continue to improve the health of working Australians, and I’m ecstatic to have this opportunity to support our members in this venture”
John said that his top priorities over the coming months will be communication with members, membership growth and establishing links with key government decision makers to ensure they understand the value our members bring in terms of health, productivity, disease prevention and downstream medical costs.
